Red Cloud Loop Area North of Vernal Utah

Deer Red Cloud Loop North of Vernal Utah

We recently went four wheeling up at Red Cloud Loop. It is 14 miles from Vernal Utah. If you enjoy camping, hiking, snowmobiling, petroglyphs, horseback riding, picnicking, caving, boating, and of course wildlife this is a place to check out! If you love flowers like I do you will love the wildflowers in the area. I will post some of the ones I saw in June in a later post.

Roses

My daughter has some beautiful roses in her yard. I really enjoyed them, and thought others would like to see how pretty they are. It is wonderful just to be able enjoy the beauty of nature. Nature can brighten our days, and give a boost when we need it. Hope these brighten your day!

Red Fleet - Vernal Utah

Red fleet Reservoir was named after the Navajo sandstone buttes nearby. The three formations look like a red fleet of ships.

This area has great scenery, dinosaur tracks, fishing, boating, camping, or stop in and have a picnic.

They found more than 200 bipedal tracks on the reservoir shoreline. Check them out by boat or hiking the trail. These tracks are more than 200 million years old. As you travel up to Red Fleet the rock formations are labeled as to which prehistoric period they come from.

The Red Fleet Reservoir area is approximately 10 miles from Vernal, Utah.

Monday Meat Pie

I am not a meat pie lover, but I like this one and it is easy.

Monday Meat Pie by Patty Smith

1lb Hamburger

3T instant minced onion

1t salt

1/4 t pepper

3 drops tabasco

1lb pkg frozen mixed vegetables (I like the peas and carrots)

1 1/2c tomato or V-8 juice

1/4c flour

1/2c ketchup

Cook hamburger, and drain. Add 1c V-8, minced onions, salt, pepper, vegetables, and tabasco. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Blend together 1/2c V-8, flour, and ketchup. Add to mixture. Make a 2 crust pie shell. Pour mixture into shell, top, cut slits, and cook for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
